There has been a lot said about Modric’s future since he joined, perhaps even before it. Either way, the midfielder has never had a moment’s peace about the situation. When he joined the club, he signed a one-year deal, with the option of a second.
In most cases, he would already be a Milan player for next season; there has been no shying away from the Rossoneri’s intent to renew his deal. However, the decision will be made by the Croatian himself.
Modric’s future
A decision will only be made and announced when he is ready and when he feels it is the right time. Most reports through this season have suggested it would be a case of waiting until the end of the World Cup.
However, it may be pushed forward slightly. It is now a case of waiting until the end of the season, and even then, it could be slightly before.
Today, Touchline revealed on X that Dinamo Zagreb have been in contact, after reports that they were considering a return bid. But he wants to continue ‘in a top league’, which boosts the Diavolo’s chances significantly.
The report continues, stating that Milan are working on the renewal and it ‘could be made official next month’. It remains a waiting game, but today’s suggestion would point in favour of him staying in Milano, and some of the groundwork is already there.
