Luka Modric has certainly not ruled out the idea of remaining at AC Milan for another season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

As the season draws to a close, the topic of Modric’s future is also becoming increasingly important. As a reminder, he signed a one-year deal with an option for another season, but it will be the player’s decision alone on whether that option is used.

Based on what has been reported, Modric will decide based on his family’s needs and how he feels after the World Cup. What does seem obvious from his performances this season is that the 40-year-old is very much sharp enough still, and has the qualities to keep controlling games.

Modric’s future: Romano’s update

There was also talk of a dinner between the former Real Madrid man and Igli Tare, in which the future will surely have been discussed. Amid all of this, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the Croatian’s current feelings, with his words relayed by MilanNews.

“Milan are already making an attempt to extend his contract. They’re leaving everything in Luka Modric’s hands: he’ll have to decide whether to continue,” he said.

“The club are courting him to stay together and let him play in the Champions League with Milan, which is something that tempts and intrigues the player.

“It’s not just Allegri and the management who are involved. His team-mates are also involved: but Modric will have to decide. Milan are giving it their all, waiting for a definitive response from Modric. The courtship is underway.”

  1. Ac Milan need to think bravely and smartly, bring back Tonali or Locatelli from Juve, spend money to fix the midfield, despite the fact he is 40 years old,he is still playing well, but we should not be reliant on…

    1. As much as we would all love Tonali to come back that wont be possible from financial perspective. He loves the club but neither he will cut his salary 50% nor will Milan spend 80mil for him because its just the way Italian football works.
As for Locatelli, he can stay the f away from our club. Maybe you dont remember or didnt follow Milan as much at that time, but he refused to sign a extention and practicly begged his way to Juve, saying afterwards that Juventus is the biggest club and that he was Juventino from early age. All that after going through Milans academy and getting to where he was all because of Milan. So no, thanks
