Geoffrey Moncada has once again stressed the importance of getting a top four spot for AC Milan ahead of tonight’s game against Torino.

Milan were very busy during the winter transfer window as they brought in five new signings including Kyle Walker, Santiago Gimenez and Joao Felix, a clear sign of the desire to change the direction of the season.
However, one objective slipped away on Tuesday night as the Rossoneri were knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Feyenoord, and that provoked a strong reaction from fans and the media.
Now, there is a responsibility to put things right by climbing up the table and making sure that they even have a chance to compete in the top European club competition next season.
Moncada spoke to DAZN moments before kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino and answered questions on a number of topics, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
What did you say to each other after the elimination?
“After a game like this it’s very difficult, we’re disappointed. We returned to Milan and spoke with the players, individually, also with the staff and the coach.
“It’s important to be with them, even today we spoke in the hotel. We’re together, we have to do much better and do something important today and Thursday.”
How important was Conceicao’s opinion for the market?
“You know how we work, to always find solutions: I have to do it with the coach. I spoke with him and watched many videos: working together is always important, as we did with Fonseca before.”
Do you agree when Ibrahimovic says that this is a stronger team than the one that won the Scudetto?
“I don’t know if it was stronger. We’ve changed a lot and it was three years ago, it’s difficult to make a comparison: we have more options, we have a more important bench.
“The team is interesting and we worked for three years for the one that won the title, we started this team last year.”
How much does it matter to get fourth place?
“We have to achieve this goal, the others have lost points: we have to win tonight and Thursday is also very important. We have chances, motivation and we want to come back immediately.”
