Milan’s mission to rebuild the midfield department has begun after Sandro Tonali’s departure to Newcastle United for a club-record fee was confirmed, and given that Ismael Bennacer is out until possibly next year.
That leaves the Rossoneri with just Rade Krunic, Tommaso Pobega and new signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek as options at present, so further reinforcements are needed to plug the gaps in that particular area.
According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Milan are now officially negotiating with AZ Alkmaar for Tijjani Reijnders. Not only that, but he adds that an agreement can be closed between €15-20m.
The 24-year-old plays as a box-to-box midfielder or an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1, having amassed 8 goals and 11 assists in 2022-23which helped him win AZ’s player of the season award and earn his first call-up with for the Netherlands.
