The right-back role is an interesting one for Milan because it seems that captain Davide Calabria has a pretty solid spot in the starting line-up, but his back-ups have not offered the certainties Stefano Pioli would have liked.
Alessandro Florenzi has had three lengthy injury problems in the two seasons he has been a Milan player, while Sergino Dest has returned to Barcelona after a disappointing one-year loan spell in which he failed to adequately provide emergency cover.
That means that the management are looking at potential options for that role, and according to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, work is being done to try and sign Wilfried Singo from Torino.
At the moment it seems as though the Ivorian is a back-up plan for Real Valladolid’s Iván Fresneda who is also sought by Barcelona. However, he adds that Junior Messias could enter the operation with Torino and go the other way.
