Moretto: Moncada set for more power – three-year renewal and ‘international surprises’ ready

The dust continues to settle after the news emerged that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been sacked by AC Milan, with a plan for the future emerging.

MilanNews and other reliable sources are reporting that Gerry Cardinale has decided to sack Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara from their position as technical and sporting director respectively.

According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Geoffrey Moncada will be the ‘future’ of the management moving forward. The ownership greatly appreciate his work and they have offered the chief scout a three-year renewal.

Some summer targets will now change, as the owners will not go for profiles such as Bologna striker Marko Arnautović or Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, presumably because of the fees involves and their respective ages.

However, Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker Daichi Kamada are still on the list, while Moretto adds that there will be ‘international surprises’ without going into great detail on what that means.
