AC Milan are likely to make the new centre-forward their most expensive signing of the summer transfer window, a journalist has claimed.
While the midfield and centre-back departments seem to be getting a lot of attentions, one aspect of Milan’s recruitment that the media have shouted about is the desire to sign another striker. Santiago Gimenez will remain, but Luka Jovic, Tammy Abraham and Francesco Camarda (loan) all won’t be here.

Igli Tare’s response about the striker issue during the press conference earlier in the week was interesting to say the least. He did not play anything down and rather confirmed the intention to help Gimenez out a bit, but with a totally different profile.
Milan to spend big on a striker
Luca Bianchin put together a piece for La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he spoke about the pursuit of a new striker, and before diving into the names – with Viktor Gyokeres apparently ‘the dream’ – he spoke about the profile and budget.
“You don’t need to be a private investigator to gather clues. Igli Tare explained on Tuesday morning what kind of centre-forward Milan are looking for: ‘A player to compete with Gimenez, different from him. He will have to be a real centre-forward, who makes the difference in the box and helps the team push up’.
“A few more elements can be added: Milan will almost certainly be looking for a number 9 who has been tested at a high level and will have a good budget for the number 9, probably the highest of its transfer campaign.
“The dream would be Gyokeres, who has all the required characteristics. Of course, he costs a lot and Arsenal have been negotiating for some time. A miracle would be needed.”

Milan has many needs in all depts. Spending a large amount on one single position isn’t wise. Gyok rumors are idiotic for many reasons. Use the funds wisely and upgrade evenly across all depts…
A world class striker is usually the cherry on top. That would have been lovely 2 or 3 years ago.
Unfortunately now we have another complete rebuild, I can’t see how purchasing a top striker makes sense when the team is so sh1t.
Anyway it will not happen, aside form the fact our owners won’t allow it, those kind of players do not want to join a club in crisis
