Eddie Howe is very happy that Newcastle United were able to get the signing of Malick Thiaw from AC Milan over the line.
Last week, reliable sources started claiming that Milan and Newcastle had agreed a €40m deal for Thiaw. The defender left the preseason camp to return to Italy, then headed back to England to undergo a medical.

The deal was made official on Tuesday, and the German left having made 85 appearances in all competitions in his three years with the Rossoneri. In his first interview, Thiaw spoke about it being the right next step for him, joining a club with ‘great ambition’.
‘The best is yet to come’
Howe was asked about the addition of Thiaw during his pre-match press conference ahead of Newcastle’s Premier League opener against Aston Villa, and he was very positive about it.
“I’m really excited about Malick. I think he’s the right age. He has enormous potential, and the best of his career is yet to come,” he said (via MilanPress).
“He’s imposing. He’s 6ft4, fast, athletic, and good with the ball. Players like that are very rare. He also has a great personality, so I’m very excited about what he can bring to the team.”

Well maybe EPL will suit him better. Best of luck for the lad. Never troubling the club. Never talking s**t about the club. Not joining our rival. Even got us 40 mil by the end of the day. Crazy how new management is still able to buy new players with the profit made from players bought by old management. New management has not made a profit from the players they bought. Constantly a loss… Who am I to say something, I am not wall street guru lol

On the flip side, the old management couldn’t make any profit with the players they bought or the players that were bought by managements before them.
While a lot of players also departed on a free transfer.
Invalid. Management did not control budget. Salaries requested was to be approved by ownership.
What does that have to do with sales and making profit of sales?
You could say that because of the budget the players couldn’t be extended but why did they departed on free transfers?
To me this is the perfect sale. When another team perceives more value then the value you were getting from the player. Thiaw wasn’t bad for Milan…but he also was not extraordinary, and it wasn’t like he was playing behind world beaters here. I hope NewCastle figure out a way to use him, he seems classy. Musah at $30MM should be next right?
Good coaches figure out Howe to the best out of a player. We didn’t have that either.
