Official: Pioli names 23-man squad for Panathinaikos clash – Conti not included

Milan will face Panathinaikos in their final pre-season friendly this evening and Stefano Pioli has named his squad for the clash. There are no surprises as the selection is pretty set this close to the Serie A opener.

The Rossoneri drew the game against Real Madrid 0-0, just like against Valencia (which they then lost on penalties), and they will be looking to get back on the scoresheet tonight. In that sense, the game will be an important indication of their form.

On their official website, Milan published the squad that Pioli has named for the clash, which included no surprises whatsoever except maybe Andrea Conti’s exclusion. As said, the squad is taking shape with little over a week left until the Serie A opener against Sampdoria.

GOALKEEPERS
Maignan, Plizzari, Tătărușanu.

DEFENDERS
Ballo-Touré, Calabria, Gabbia, Hernández, Kalulu, Kjær, Romagnoli, Tomori.

MIDFIELDERS
Bennacer, Castillejo, Díaz, Krunić, Pobega, Saelemaekers, Tonali.

FORWARDS
Capone, Giroud, Leão, Maldini, Rebić.

Hopefully, the Rossoneri will provide a strong performance in Trieste this evening, seeing as it would be a very good boost for the upcoming season.
