Di Marzio: Origi expected to sign – Ibra’s exit could see a big investment in attack

AC Milan could decide to make a big investment in a striker for the future this summer but they must first resolve another key issue.

Going into the 2021-22 season the Milan management decided it was enough to have a 40-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a 35-year-old Olivier Giroud along with the long signing of Pietro Pellegri.

His loan was ended early in January but rather than going for a more established name, a few million were spent on the 18-year-old Marko Lazetic of Red Star who only made his senior debut last night while the Rossoneri were 3-0 down against Inter. This has led to calls for the attack to be freshened up and for a big investment to be made on a striker.

According to what Gianluca Di Marzio (via ScoutismoRossonero) is reporting, Milan will evaluate whether or not to make a significant investment in attack on a young player based on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s decision over his future.

He adds that negotiations are ‘very advanced’ over Divock Origi but there is still no signature yet from the Belgium, though there is the desire to close the deal for an important player on a free.
