What happened to Divock Origi? This is one of the many questions that the fans are asking themselves during this heated summer. The Belgian striker seems to have disappeared without a trace, but in recent days his name has started circulating again.
Origi wants severance pay
According to Calciomercato.com, in the past few days (precisely Thursday 26 June) Origi met with the new sporting director Igli Tare at Casa Milan to discuss the termination of his current contract, which ties him to the club until June 2026.
He earns a net salary of €4m per year and the gross amount, taking advantage of the benefits of the Growth Decree, brings the figure to around €5.2m. Terminating the contract seems to be the only viable option for both parties, given that Milan continues to see Origi as outside their plans.
The centre-forward – who arrived in the summer of 2022 – has in fact requested 50% of his current salary (we are therefore talking about €2m) as a severance payment to free himself from the contract that ties him to the Rossoneri for another year. Milan’s response is awaited.
