Origi wants severance pay
According to Calciomercato.com, in the past few days (precisely Thursday 26 June) Origi met with the new sporting director Igli Tare at Casa Milan to discuss the termination of his current contract, which ties him to the club until June 2026.
He earns a net salary of €4m per year and the gross amount, taking advantage of the benefits of the Growth Decree, brings the figure to around €5.2m. Terminating the contract seems to be the only viable option for both parties, given that Milan continues to see Origi as outside their plans.
The centre-forward – who arrived in the summer of 2022 – has in fact requested 50% of his current salary (we are therefore talking about €2m) as a severance payment to free himself from the contract that ties him to the Rossoneri for another year. Milan’s response is awaited.

Wut guys? Milan gave him contract – quite big one, true – but under expectation that player will at least play. This is absolutely ridiculous to take his stand in this situation.
This is by far the worst “player” Milan had since I support this club, and it is definitely over 25 years. It is okay to not be good enough, or not be as good as club expected him to be, but not even taking part in trainings, not showing up as he is expected to, ridiculous. Not to mention his “apperances” when he was still playing, what an absolute trash. He must have been eating too much from the start, not training and not following any rules to be in that shape, that he wasn’t even able to shoot straight.
If you are taking his stance there, I start to wonder if you are really supporters of this club…
I’m not an Origi defender, but the facts of the situation are that he was pushed out by the club. It wasn’t Origi just deciding to not show up one day.

That was at the club’s choice, not his. If he hadn’t then the club would have cancelled his contract or started a lawsuit, but that’s not the case.
He never had a pre season with us and was injured a lot of his first season.
Terrible signing and I agree one of the biggest mistakes in recent history from our management, but that’s on the club not him. It’s not like he went from prolific to nothing; he was a cult hero in Liverpool precisely because he usually did nothing but somehow popped up in a few key moments they’ll always remember.

At least Caldara had multiple serious injuries and genuinely wanted to get fit and play. Accepted several loans in an attempt to get back to his best.
Origi just got fat and gave up pursuing anything. Couldn’t even hack it when he went to a low level relegation club in England. His attitude stinks, the chance for a dream job (and maybe more money) if he got back to top level and Belgium world cup squad.
He’s owed 4, so Milan would be saving 2. Just do it and move on

If you are a true supporter of the club, then you are part of the community. Community that win and lose together. And he harmed this community in a huge way.
It is okay to not be good enough, many before and after him will be not good enough. But this attitude, to not even try, to just demand money for doing nothing, is the absolute worst. I think the word you cited is even too polite to describe him and his behavior…

He’s fulfilled his end of the contract. He played, he trained….. then what? Milan told him not to come to training, not to do a first pre season, not to fly to the US with the team. The club tried to force him out, he didn’t want to. It has to take two to agree to end a contact. He’s done nothing wrong, or Milan would cancel it. The club has to pay him because he’s done it at their request.
Despite this, he’s never said a bad word about the club or its fans and has been professionally silent throughout. Yes, he could have moved and taken a pay cut for his footballing career but maybe he and his family are happy living there, in which case good luck to them.
It’s no excuse to dehumanise him.
Mate, at this moment I honestly don’t know if you are trolling or not… When he was still “playing” he was so terrible he couldn’t shoot straight, then overweight, not following diet or rules of professional football player. While the rest of the team was training hard and giving their hearts. There are no excuses for that.
Milan was clear with him, saying we don’t want you, please leave and make space for different player. We will not block you, you can go for free. And then he, as parasite, decided to stay and suck off money. Literally millions of euro for doing nothing. And being an huge problem for the team. Instead of finding a new place for himself and going back to training.
Maybe you admire such behaviour, in this case good luck for you. I would never do such thing because I am honest person, and I always want to work honestly for my salary. And bring value to team/company instead of ripping anybody off.
Start of negotiations. Milan should find themselves to pay maximum of 1,85 million of gross and terminate the contract.
Pay the man. There is a contract and he is letting you out early. Get the checkbook out. Do better next time.

Can’t blame him for that he did sign a contract and has every right to run it down. Milan should never have bought him (I understand the gamble from Maldini, he is experienced and was a free but we needed better than him). He pretty much came injured and was not given the slightest opportunity the following season despite the fact that most players who come to Italy have a bad first season
