Pedulla: ‘Italian sirens ringing’ as Milan and Napoli pursue Girona star

The upcoming mercato will likely be remembered for the signing of a new striker, and who will be elected to be AC Milan’s No.9 has not been finalised. Multiple avenues are being explored, and this afternoon, a new report has emerged about one candidate in the running.

Mercato periods are always difficult to navigate, but there are several pressures on Milan to get this one right. A central defender, midfielder and striker are all required, and the club must ensure they spend the money available wisely, which means being shrewd with signings.

Quotes for a new striker are commonly around the €50 million mark, which totals around half of the Rossoneri’s budget, and whilst this position is an absolute must, offsetting such a large cost in one area could limit the ability to sign quality in other areas.

Therefore, it is also worth the club looking into other price brackets, and that is what they are doing by looking at Artem Dovbyk. As Alfredo Pedulla (via Radio Rossonera) reports, there are numerous Serie A suitors for his services, including AC Milan.

It is believed he could be worth around €40 million after a fantastic season in La Liga with Girona where he scored 24 times in 36 games, with a further eight assists.
