Pedulla says potential Maldini replacement has been ‘proposed to Milan and Napoli’

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has said that AC Milan and Napoli have both been given the chance to make an approach for former Lazio sporting director Igli Tare.

As was tweeted by Pedulla, the rumours around who will be the new technical director at Milan are coming thick and fast after it was announced that he has been sacked by Gerry Cardinale.

Whilst the focus at this time of year is primarily on the transfer of players, there is a lot of focus on the sporting directors at the top Serie A clubs.

It seems likely that Napoli’s Cristian Giuntoli will be heading to Juventus, and Tare has now left Lazio. That leaves three clubs from the Serie A top four needing a sporting director.

Pedulla reports that Milan and Napoli have both been made aware of Tare’s availability and he would presumably be interested in both clubs, if they want him.

“Tare has been proposed to AC Milan and Napoli, so far without openings,” he wrote.
