Pellegatti: Lazio an unlikely destination as Romagnoli’s salary demands are revealed

Denials have arrived from Carlo Pellegatti regarding the idea that Alessio Romagnoli has already verbally agreed to join Lazio next summer on a free transfer.

La Repubblica (via LaLazioSiamoNoi) reported yesterday that Lazio have already secured the arrival of Romagnoli on a free transfer next summer. The Rossoneri captain is currently on the sidelines and won’t renew his contract with the club.

Carlo Pellegatti spoke on his YouTube channel (via MilanLive) about the future of Romagnoli, stating that the defender wants a net salary of €5.5-6m per year and he does not know if this is a request that Lazio can satisfy. Romagnoli wants that amount for the last or penultimate important contract of his professional career.

Of course Romagnoli is a Biancoceleste fan and has not hidden that, but it seems unlikely that their president Claudio Lotito will agree to pay him such a salary, given the parameters of the Capitoline club are different and their highest paid player is Ciro Immobile at €4m.
