CorSport: Pioli to try De Ketelaere in a new role in search for positive signals

AC Milan are waiting for the right answers from Charles De Ketelaere and they hope tonight’s cup game could be an opportunity to finally hit form.

Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how in recent months, often on the eve or on the day of a Milan match, fans and the media have proclaimed that it will be the game that De Ketelaere will finally be unlocked.

However, tonight’s game could be his best opportunity yet as he will get another chance from the first minute and will play up front. On Sunday against Roma he came on in the last five minutes, therefore witnessing the collapse first hand, whereas tonight he will have much more playing time.

De Ketelaere has been entrusted with the role of deputy to Olivier Giroud who will be granted a deserved and necessary rest. The Rossoneri coach is without Divock Origi and Ante Rebic once again, so will turn the responsibility over to the Belgian.

The 21-year-old played several games with Club Brugge as a striker last year and will try to get that first goal to clear an obstacle mentally. De Ketelaere is the only striker in the Milan squad who hasn’t scored yet, and positive signals are expected soon.
