Just as Inter have to deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milan will try to stop Romelu Lukaku from getting another derby goal. It will be an interesting battle in the game, namely which striker comes out on top.
In the last game between the two sides, Ibrahimovic and Lukaku got in a huge brawl and could have both been sent off. Although there will be tension and passion tomorrow, we can hope that the two have settled down a tad.
It will be up to the Rossoneri defence to stop Lukaku, with Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli expected to play from start. During his press conference, Stefano Pioli was asked if Fikayo Tomori would be a better option, given his pace.
“He is doing well, he has different characteristics from the others. But for technical and physical characteristics, Tomori is better at playing against Lautaro and Sanchez, he’s aggressive but doesn’t have the physicality to counter such powerful attackers. I’m very happy with his performances, yes,” he said as cited by MilanNews.
This doesn’t mean that the Chelsea loanee can’t play the game from start, but Kjaer seems to be ahead of him in the race. Either way, it will be interesting to see how they will handle Lukaku tomorrow.
