This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) recalls how Saturday seemed to be a perfect evening for Brahim Diaz as he scored a first-half brace to help his side on the way to a 4-1 win over Monza, but in the second half he suffered a muscle problem that forced him to leave the field.

There was a bit of concern among the medical staff given that the player immediately asked for a substitution, but the tests he underwent yesterday excluded injuries as he only suffered a contracture in the top of his left leg and therefore it is not excluded that he could feature in the Champions League tomorrow night in Zagreb against Dinamo.

It will be decided today if the Spaniard will leave with the squad for Croatia but optimism filters from Milanello, which would be a big boost for Pioli given his decisive performance on Saturday evening plus the fact he seems to have overtaken Charles De Ketelaere in the hierarchy, even if the Belgian has just returned.

Tomorrow night’s match against Dinamo Zagreb is fundamental one for the Rossoneri who must win at all costs to continue their path towards the Champions League knockout stages, and for this reason Diaz’s recovery would be very important because his speed and quality would cause problems.
