GdS: Pioli overcomes attacking deficiencies with ideas and hard work

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has drawn praise from the papers this morning for the fantastic job he is doing with the squad at his disposal.

As pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), of the four coaches who are currently in the top four spots in Serie A, only Pioli is the coach who was already there before the start of the current campaign.

The real secret of Milan is Pioli himself, who was able to make up for some significant attacking deficiencies with ideas and hard work. The Rossoneri are in sixth place for shots on goal and tenths in the assists ranking, but yet they are top of the league.

Over the course of the season, the coach had to do without Simon Kjaer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while only four starters have exceeded 2000 minutes on the pitch (Inter have double that): Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori, Rafael Leao and Sandro Tonali.
