AC Milan have a few names on their shortlist as they consider options to reinforce the centre-forward department in the summer, a report claims.
According to PianetaMilan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to sign a new one-year deal with Milan but already this season he has shown that he will miss time due to physical problems. The players currently in the squad have shown they cannot replace him, so Paolo Maldini is looking for a striker who is young and with great potential, so that he can grow alongside Ibrahimovic next season.
There are two names at the top of the pile and the first is Odsonne Edouard of Celtic. He is doing very well with the Scottish side despite their dismal season and scored against the Rossoneri in the Europa League. A €15m bid should be enough to win the race to land him, but he is not the first choice target.
Maldini’s real transfer market dream is Andrea Belotti, even if it is very complicated to land him. The 27-year-old is captain of Torino, who have never given the impression of wanting to sell him. There are two glimmers of hope for Milan: the first is his contract, which expires in 2022 and which therefore could lead to a lowering of the asking price in the event that there is no agreement for a renewal, and the second is that Torino could be relegated.
Finally, there are also some back-up targets. One of these is Boulaye Dia of Stade Reims, a player Frederic Massara’s eyes are on as he is impressing in Ligue 1 and would cost around €12m. Another possibility would be Brian Brobbey, a client of Raiola who seems destined to leave Ajax on a free transfer this June.
