Pobega admits that draw against Bologna ‘hurts’ Milan: “We threw away points”

Tommaso Pobega seemed frustrated after AC Milan drew with Bologna this afternoon, highlighting how the team keep throwing away valuable points.

Stefano Pioli chose to make 10 changes to the starting line-up with an eye on the second leg against Napoli next Tuesday, and Milan made a nightmare start Reggio-Emilia when Nicolo Sansone converted a cross after 34 seconds.

However, a response did come before half-time as Pobega thumped home a shot from 25 yards out that went in off the inside of the post, though that would be all the Rossoneri could muster.

Pobega spoke during an interview with DAZN after the game to try and take stock of what was a hard fought point but also another game without a win in the top four battle, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“We made a mistake at the start. Then we tried to play our game. We threw away points and it’s not the first time, we’re throwing away points one game after the other. It hurts,” he said.

“We are preparing the matches as best we can. We have to work and approach the matches better. We all train well, we all train hard, we wanted to demonstrate that the concepts are the same even if we change a lot… It’s a shame because there was a lack of precision.”

Were you thinking about Napoli?

“No. We worked on this match. We gave a lot today. Now we just have to work for Napoli.”
