Pochettino is one of several names that has been linked with Milan in recent days as they look for Massimiliano Allegri’s successor in the dug out. Oliver Glasner seems to be the leading candidate, but it was The Athletic who broke the news of talks with the current US national team boss.

In fact, La Gazzetta dello Sport even reported earlier this week that the acting hierarchy had reached an agreement with Pochettino over contractual terms. Now, while he prepares for a home World Cup with the USMNT, the Rossoneri must really start evaluating their options.

More Poch talks

During his daily video update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto spoke about Milan, focusing not only on the issue linked to the possible arrival of Ralf Rangnick but also Pochettino’s candidacy.

“As for the coaches, discussions and contacts continue. There has been further direct contacts with Pochettino, who remains in the running to be the possible coach,” he said (via MilanNews).

“There will be contact with Jaissle, although it’s a somewhat complicated path. Planes is holding out, and we’ll see if these situations are resolved in the coming days. Milan must find harmony, and it will also need to be found in their choices and willpower.

“It’s June 4th. I believe Ibrahimovic will leave for America this weekend for the World Cup, where he will also act as a commercial ambassador for Milan.”
