GdS: Positive signs necessary from Origi as a chance presents itself

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to rotate the attacking department tonight in view of next Wednesday’s game against Napoli, a report claims.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Stefano Pioli intends to give Olivier Giroud a rest for the game tonight which means he should initially start on the bench against Empoli.

The paper confirms that Divock Origi will play in his place given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is absent due to a muscle problem at the moment. The Belgian must give positive signals after a disappointing few months so far at the club.

Origi arrived at Milan in the last summer transfer window on a free given his contract at Liverpool expired and he was meant to be a reliable rotation option and potentially even a starter. However, he has never really got going due to a combination of injuries and performances in which he far from impressed.
