Signing a player like Morata last summer was understandable. After all, Milan lost Olivier Giroud and Simon Kjaer, so responsibility was needed in the dressing room, and Morata provided that, on paper. A European champion and captain, the Spaniard seemed perfect.
However, he failed to hit the ground running, scoring just six goals in 25 games. In other departments, he did not succeed either, failing to really provide the same traits that Giroud once did, barring taking Francesco Camarda under his wing.
So, when Sergio Conceicao arrived, the situation was looked at and Morata left. However, he could now return.
Third time lucky
Since leaving for Turkey, the striker has spoken about how he joined the club for Paulo Fonseca, and left due to Conceicao. So, perhaps, there is a chance that he could be utilised by another with his return to the club, as Milan News questions.
He is already considering leaving Galatasaray, and a move to Spain could be on the cards. However, there could also be a chance of a return, with a coach which he has success under, Massimiliano Allegri.
Should the Italian call, Morata could answer and find solidity, perhaps, as the report states, he could be the ‘possible new striker’.
