Tuttosport: PSG and English clubs want Milan star but Maldini and Investcorp’s stance is clear

AC Milan have made it clear that they want to secure the long-term future of Rafael Leao amid interest from clubs in the Premier League, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) talks about the future of Leao who scored his 10th goal of the season in Serie A during the 1-0 victory over Fiorentina on Sunday and he continues to show his development after an inconsistent first couple of seasons following his arrival from Lille in 2019.

This is the reason why Milan have decided to block any offers for Leao in the summer transfer market, effectively telling the interested top European clubs that he is unavailable. Several teams like the Portuguese winger such as PSG and a few in the Premier League, and they have enquired with his agent Jorge Mendes.

However, again Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will not listen to offers and instead the target (as well as that of Investcorp) is to extend his contract from June 2024 to 2026 with his pay going from €1.5m net per season to €4.5m net.

However, the renewal has not arrived so far for two reasons: the first is the change of ownership at the Rossoneri and the second is linked to the lawsuit that Sporting CP has filed against him. On May 17 the Court of Milan will rule on the matter and things will be clearer, while Leao for his part is also happy to stay.
