Journalist claims PSV want Milan forward to replace PSG-bound Simons

PSV Eindhoven have lost Xavi Simons to Paris Saint-Germain and they are looking at Charles De Ketelaere to replace him, according to a report.

Simons joined PSG from Barcelona in 2019 but did not get much playing time in France and thus went to PSV where he scored 19 goals and added eight assists in 34 Eredivisie appearances.

That saw PSG use their €6m buy-back clause and thus he will return to the capital, where either a new loan awaits for him or potentially even more first team minutes.

According to journalist Rik Elfrink on Twitter – who cites ‘several sources’ – PSV have not wasted any time in looking for his replacement and are ‘rapidly switching’ to De Ketelaere as Simons’ successor.

More developments are expected regarding the Belgian playmaker, who joined the Rossoneri last summer in a deal worth €35m but failed to score a single goal in over 40 appearances, leading to some talk of a possible exit.
