Speculation about Christian Pulisic’s future at AC Milan continues, with some Premier League clubs keen on landing him.

CaughtOffside claim that Milan are ‘preparing for a major squad overhaul at the end of the season’. As part of that, they are ‘listening to offers in the €70–80m range’ for Pulisic, which they would then reinvest to improve the squad.
Tottenham see Pulisic as the ‘dynamic wide option they’ve been missing’ as per the report, while Arsenal have ‘kept him on their radar for some time’. Manchester United are at the window too, aware that he could play a number of positions.
The source state that Pulisic is ‘said to be open to a return to the Premier League’ but the final decision rests with Milan’s management given how important the American is, especially with a return to the Champions League currently on the agenda.
Pulisic has been one of Milan’s most decisive and consistent players since joining, which is something that needs rewarding with a new contract. Igli Tare and the rest of the directors will do everything to tie him down long-term, especially given his strong bond with the fans, by his own admission.

Pulisic is more of a second striker than Leao is. Leao needs to be out wide where he can use his speed to run around people or else he is useless.

He’d be hard to replace, but you could make an argument for selling high because there’s a decent chance that his body will start to break down more and more often over the next few years.

I suspect Pulisic’s first choice is to sign a nice juicy contract with Milan and play out his days here. I think that would be best for him personally and professionally, and a win for Milan. Showing Milan management he has attractive possibilities in EPL could be just the leverage needed to get the deal done with Milan management.
This. He’s been in EPL already so he knows what’s it like. If he’s already struggling with injuries in Italy just imagine what it would be like in the UK again. He can’t be THAT stupid, now can he?
I think this sounds right. He’s been happy in Milan by all accounts, and if he could just get consistently fit, he could be the MAN here. We just need to pay him an amount that feels fair for a top 10 winger/second forward in the world. He’s that good when he’s fit. Had he stayed healthy, he might have had another 5 goals these past month from the PKs alone.
He could still win capocannionere and a scudetto here.
Unless it was a perfect situation, I just don’t see the PL tempting him. The Chelsea BS nearly ended his career, and he knows it would be similar if he goes to Arsenal or Man Utd, where he won’t play consistenlly.

Leao is the one who is falling apart though. His only asset is his speed. He’s already at walking pace these days and once his hamstring pops, he’s pretty much finished.

Agreed. Leao with his top-end pace and creativity is the player with the higher ceiling.
But, realistically, Leao depends more on physical dominance, and if that drops by even 10% he’s the weaker player of the two.
I’d like to keep both of course, but if we had to sell one, I’d sell Leao and keep Puli.

I have listened to all of Pulisic’s interviews since his arrival at Milan in Italian and in English. Unless, he is full of sh** he doesn’t want to leave, let alone go back to England. However, he did make it clear that he only wants to be at a club that values him on the field. I would say Allegri and the clubs value him, but due to our formation he is unfortunately dispensable. Which sucks.
He is a professional so will not speak badly of ACM. In fact, in his last interview he wasn’t positive about the club (in fact he said nothing about the club), just how he loves the fans and their support. His people are out there putting out feelers. Here’s a truth, Allegri doesn’t really value him on the field. As soon as Allegri gets his 9, Pulisic is on the bench behind Leao. Tell me that’s not true. ACM is signing new contracts with Tomori and RLC and doesn’t even have meetings set with Pulisic. Finally, he’s not going to Tottenham. If Allegri would play a 4-3-3 regularly, he would stay because I think he does like it in Italy. But he also has his career to think about.

I will admit my bias, I thought he would have problems as soon as they hired Allegri. When I mentioned what happened with Chiesa at Juve, people just blew that off as Allegri would never do that. Managers are stubborn. They all have their ways. The example I give with Pulisic was how Tuchel played Werner and Sterling while buying Mudryk all to play the left wing. How’d that work out? Tuchel just never believed in him and he would get benched even after having a good game.

He took a discount to make the transfer from Chelsea happen. He’s proved to be one of top 5 attacking players in Serie A since arriving. To be asked then to be a sub and not be given the contract they verbally agreed upon could facilitate an exit.

We should be questioning Ollie’s journalism. Time after time we read gossip about our players going from one team to another and I question if that is because he needs to fill his quota regardless of the accuracy. The contributors to this site will print anything as an excuse for content. Similar to player ratings we should rate the contributors to the accuracy of their posts as well as how much the just re-hash stories. Truth be told they know no more than the rest of us until the player arrives to sign the contract.

Actually, the food in London is good. Not British food but the wide variety of other country’s foods. I’ve learned to avoid the Sunday roasts at the bars- lol. Some of the best tapas outside of Spain I’ve had were at this place by Stamford Bridge. Great food in Italy, but less variety.
Somehow I knew this would happen, Players are commodities, and also Pulisic is divisive in Italy, especially among french and spanish, just by being a white american. There’s nothing he can do about it. He can’t play or perform his way into some hearts. politics can ruin love.
On the bright side for him, maybe he’ll go to a team with more creativity in their tactics. The premiership doesn’t tolerate that political divisive stuff. They see a lot of americans.
I’ve followed AC Milan since before Pulisic was born. It will be sad for me not to see him attain legendary status at Milan. I’m certain that was his dream as he was learning Italian and scoring goals. For Kids worldwide born in the 90’s AC Milan is very very special.
Everybody has a price. If Pulisic’s price starts creeping up towards €80. Milan has to listen. At that price I would probably sell any individual on Milan. However as a selfish Milan fan and as an American I hope this doesn’t happen for several reasons
1. Pulisic has a chance to go down as a Milan legend. This is not hyperbole. If Pulisic stays with Milan for the rest of his 20’s (say 5 years) and knocks in 15 goals along with 10 assists a year, his numbers would be in Milan legend status. There is no chance of this happening anywhere in the premier league.
2. Unlike what the previous poster wrote…no one is more threatened by Americans, and especially American footballers than the Brits. Look at the treatment of Brendan Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Weston Mckennje by the Leeds fan base, Jose Altidore’s treatment by Sunderland, Clint Dempsey’s treatment by Tottenham, and Christian Pulisic’s own treatment by Chelsea. If you are doing great the Brits will give Americans a pass, but anything less than that and you are the least liked player on the team. Is this really what Pulisic wants to go back to? He is well loved by Milan.
3. Pulisic thrives by being able to roam anywhere on the field he wants. At Milan he has this freedom. Would the same be true at Arsenal? No way. He is a center pice at Milan. At Arsenal at best he would be just a piece.
4. He could get a bigger salary in the prem….but I do not think his marketing potential moves higher because unlike Milan he will not be the star of his team. So his actual take home pay may not go up that much more

In England, American soccer players are presumed to be weak and are guilty until proven innocent.
In Italy there is little if any similar bias, and Puli has the chance to become a legend and central player. In fact he already is a central player, and if he can just stay fit, he can be the player Allegri builds the attack around.

And regarding the 4th… He’s a down to Earth type of guy who values others things more than money. I seriously doubt he’d go back to EPL “just for the bigger paycheck”. Heck, he might even sign the extension for the same money he now gets if the project is right.
To put my first comment in context. If Pulisic scores 50 more goals (keep in mind he has already scored 42 in 3 years). He would be in the top 10 all time at Milan. Well ahead of Ibra, Moretti, Weah, Gullit.
Also if Pulisic can record 6 assists a year over the next 5 years he would also be in the top 10 for assists. This would make him a living legend for the rest of his life.
Now that’s really something to think about. And more value to his accomplishments, he’s done it only in a few seasons. That’s really remarkable!

There’s no reason to get rid of Pylisic. There is a price the management will accept. This whole “needs to sell to fund a summer squad overhaul” is BS.
But hey, we sold Tonali and Reijnders, Pulisic isn’t unsellable, but he is every bit as valuable as those two so we should be talking 75-80 million, not the peanuts Reijnders went for.
Also, it’s 18 months till his contract is up, and 23 till he can negotiate a free transfer, counting the extension option. This isn’t a big deal.
This summer, assuming we don’t collapse like under Conseicao, we’ll be strengthening the squad and the first 11 to compete for the scidetto and to qualify for the CL knock-outs among the 24 best teams in Europe. We are not far off that level, if certain holes are plugged up front and some players keep developing as they have been, namely Alexis and Nkunku. Gimenez hopefully returns and has a great few months, same with Leao and Puli, who are all on rhe verge if being back.
If we’re gonna keep playing a 3-5-2 I’m not convinced by Tomori and Pavlovic for matches against the European elite… some purchases just happen, but a squad overhaul? Naaaaah.
