Defensa Central: Real Madrid could consider attempt to bring back €80m+ Milan star

Real Madrid could explore the possibility of re-signing Theo Hernandez if Ferland Mendy were to leave the club, according to a report.

Defensa Central talks about the uncertainty surrounding the 27-year-old Mendy who has not always been consistent since his arrival from Olympique Lyonnais and has a deal until 2024, with a valuation of around €50m and the possibility of considering a sale.

The report mentions four names that Real Madrid could well target to replace him, with Alphonse Davies of Bayern Munich the first name. He has a contract until 2025 and is valued at €70m currently (as per Transfermarkt), though Bayern are expected to ask for more for the Canadian.

Theo Hernandez is the second name on the list, and he is a name Real Madrid know well given they sold him to Milan in the summer of 2019. He recently renewed until 2026 at a salary of close to €5m net per season, and he would be worth €80m or more given his status as arguably the best in the world in that position.

The other two players that the report talks about are Nuno Mendes of PSG – who is valued at €60m but would be a difficult target to pursue, and Borna Sosa of Stuttgart who would cost around €30m.
