MN: Rebic hoping to be decisive in the final stretch again – his future may depend on it

We have seen Ante Rebic become decisive in the final phase of the season before, but if he were to do it this season it could be his biggest contribution yet.

Rebic has missed 16 games due to injury in the current campaign and despite scoring goals in big games like at Anfield against Liverpool in the Champions League and the equaliser against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, he has largely struggled.

MilanNews writes how the hope is that the match against Lazio may have marked Rebic’s rebirth as he came off the bench with a battling and energetic performance full of determination, winning possession which led to the winner in the 92nd minute.

In 2019-20, Rebic scored a brace against Udinese and from that moment on he bagged another 9 goals and 3 assists thus having an excellent second half of the season, while in the second half of the 2020-21 campaign he racked up 10 goals and 1 assist.

Some positive signs were seen in the Lazio win especially with regards to the attitude of the Croatian. The pressure on Marusic that led to the winning goal and indeed his performance on Sunday evening in general should give confidence, and the next four games are crucial for his future given the speculation he could leave.
