Relevo: Morata’s clause much higher than €10m as Milan watch on

AC Milan are looking for a striker and this morning, various outlets stated that Alvaro Morata is a concrete target for the club. However, the pursuit is much more complicated than first though, a report highlights.

Calciomercato.com reported earlier today that Milan could accelerate for Morata as their primary target, Gianluca Scamacca, currently cannot leave West Ham on loan with an option to buy. The report also stated that Morata has a €10m release clause.

However, as per Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Morata’s clause is worth between €20-30m and can only be activated during a certain period in July. Furthermore, the striker himself wants to stay at Atletico Madrid.

Morata has already rejected a bid from Saudi Arabia and has no intention of leaving Atleti. Milan are watching on but it seems they won’t be able to get the 31-year-old this summer, if not for unforeseen changes.
