Relevo: Morata’s clause much higher than €10m as Milan watch on

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking for a striker and this morning, various outlets stated that Alvaro Morata is a concrete target for the club. However, the pursuit is much more complicated than first though, a report highlights.

Calciomercato.com reported earlier today that Milan could accelerate for Morata as their primary target, Gianluca Scamacca, currently cannot leave West Ham on loan with an option to buy. The report also stated that Morata has a €10m release clause.

However, as per Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Morata’s clause is worth between €20-30m and can only be activated during a certain period in July. Furthermore, the striker himself wants to stay at Atletico Madrid.

Morata has already rejected a bid from Saudi Arabia and has no intention of leaving Atleti. Milan are watching on but it seems they won’t be able to get the 31-year-old this summer, if not for unforeseen changes.

  1. hopefully that will make them move on to a different target as i wouldnt even want to see him join us for the ten mil mentioned earlier,

    1. I think RedBird needs to step up!,

If they don’t spend, we will loose the sponsors, loose match day revenue loose CL and Seria A revenue and our brand (apparently the fastest growing in Europe at present if I’m not mistaken) will leap backwards and their will be no chance of getting the €500m annual revenue in the near future.

I would say that I have heard that American owners normally set a date and achieve what the say, like the Bournemouth FC owner Foley, he promised fans the Stanley cup in 6 years and delivered so if Gerry is saying he aims for €500m annual revenue then he must spend on building the squad and the stadia which will result in increased revenues and a strong brand name which can be monetized.

It may be wishful thinking but the above logic helps me get to sleep at night.

I feel the perfect striker for us is BETO and now is the right time to strike before teams fail with other targets and start panic bidding on him!!

      1. They certainly do.

Maybe their goal is to play for fewer spectators next season so they can excuse themselves to build a smaller stadium than 70-75000 😀 kidding aside they should step carefully because they really have created a gap towards the fans for their actions done in june.

Absolutely but im far from convinced and if they actually plan to sell star players regularly then a lot of people simply wont come to the stadium especially if the sporting results also goes downwards spiraling,

Beto could indeed be a great aquisition if we can strike a deal but i assume he would cost around 40 mil but i believe someone here on this site recently told me that he had a 35 mil euros release clause which i would suspect that is what they would demand due to his importance for udinese as he can be the difference whether they stays up in serie a or not.

        1. I don’t think Beto will cost €40 million. Udinese paid €7 million for him and they’re a selling club. I doubt they’d turn down €30 million, or €25 million + Caldara or Colombo or Maldini.

          1. Still a player that is a differrence between playing in serie a or serie b so there is an added value to him.
I would never accept us selling/swapping colombo or maldini but who knows with those tossers at the helm of the club.

  2. Spend the money on scamacca and call it a day. You’re not going to get much better than what you’re willing to spend. Icardi is a huge risk and demands a high wage, same with firmino

  3. I think he’d be a good rotation option with Giroud and I’d be happy if he was available for cheap, but it wouldn’t allow us to alternate approaches to games so not worth spending huge money on.

Would prefer to see Scamacca or Icardi for a different option.

  4. The way I see it AC Milan need a striker, this was the case all last season, before Maldini left and NOW, post Maldini.

You have to spend sooner or later or frankly just give up!!!

Spend the money get BETO and bring Colombo back.

Most of us will be more then happy with:
    BETO, Giroud and Colombo!!!

    1. To me, the midfield is far more important than striker at the moment. Up front, we have the same bodies as last season plus Colombo. Not world beating, but we have options.

In midfield, for two key spots, we have Krunic, Pobega and maybe now RLC, until Bennacer is back sometime next year. That’s at least 2 bodies short of a decent team, never mind the quality.

  5. Bring top powerfull right winger. Excellent defensive midfielder and Kamada. And stay with Giroud Rebic and Origi.
