Report: ‘The last gift’ – Milan could reunite Fonseca with former Lille attacker

The mercato closes in a few days time, and AC Milan could treat Paulo Fonseca to a last-minute signing of one of his former favourites.

This summer, the midfield has been the area of focus, and Milan have been engaged in negotiations all summer to buy a new holding midfielder. However, there is now another area that the club are looking to improve and that is an attacking midfielder.

Whilst Christian Pulisic has featured as the Trequartista recently, whether it will be his permanent position remains to be seen, and there have been doubts about Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the past as well, which could open a route to a new No.10 arriving.

According to a report from Turkish outlet Sporx (via Milan News), Yusuf Yazici’s name is once again on the radar at Casa Milan and the management could give the midfielder ‘more than a passing thought’. Whilst Nice are also considering a move for the player, Yazici prefers a move to Italy, and the move could be a ‘last gift’ to the coach this summer.

Given reports have stated that the Rossoneri must focus on departures before they add any other players to the squad, the move could be questionable. Especially considering there are two players who could confidently challenge for a place ahead of the Turkish midfielder.

However, the midfielder is currently without a club, so perhaps it could be a shrewd bit of business on a free.
