A meeting is underway between AC Milan and the entourage of Stefano Pioli to iron out the final details of his contract, according to Di Marzio.
The Rossoneri leaders have made the decision to sack Marco Giampaolo after just seven games in charge, but he did lose four of the first six, something the club hasn’t done since 1938.
Luciano Spalletti looked to be set to take over, but he was unable to resolve contract issues with Inter, so Pioli is the man that Milan have turned to with the coach apparently ready to sign his contract today, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Now, Di Marzio has confirmed that the last bits of Pioli’s deal are being sorted out, with the signature set to take place this evening.
The former Lazio, Fiorentina and Inter boss is set to take his first training session at Milanello on Wednesday, with Giampaolo and his staff having already cleared out their belongings.
Meanwhile Calciomercato.com‘s Daniele Longo has also confirmed that the final details of the contract are being defined with agent Bruno Satin.
He believes that Pioli will pen a deal until 2021, with €1m being paid between now and the end of the season, and €1.5m for next season.
