Reports: Milan snubbed as De Paul to Atletico is a done deal – operation worth €40m

Milan have been heavily linked with Ridrog De Paul in the last few weeks as a potential replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu. However, they are now set to miss out, with the Argentine one step away from Atletico Madrid.

Calhanoglu’s contract will expire at the end of this month and he could still end up renewing with the Rossoneri. Perhaps that is now the most likely outcome, as Milan’s No.1 target for that position has agreed to join Atletico Madrid.

According to various reports, including TuttoMercatoWeb, SportItalia and Nicolo Schira, it’s a done deal as Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Udinese. The deal should include €35m in cash and an additional €5m in bonuses.

De Paul will earn around €3m per year until 2026 and the playmaker could complete the move to the Spanish side next week. In other words, Milan are set to miss out on this one, perhaps due to the high price tag.
