Reports: Milan snubbed as De Paul to Atletico is a done deal – operation worth €40m

By Isak Möller -

Milan have been heavily linked with Ridrog De Paul in the last few weeks as a potential replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu. However, they are now set to miss out, with the Argentine one step away from Atletico Madrid.

Calhanoglu’s contract will expire at the end of this month and he could still end up renewing with the Rossoneri. Perhaps that is now the most likely outcome, as Milan’s No.1 target for that position has agreed to join Atletico Madrid.

According to various reports, including TuttoMercatoWeb, SportItalia and Nicolo Schira, it’s a done deal as Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Udinese. The deal should include €35m in cash and an additional €5m in bonuses.

De Paul will earn around €3m per year until 2026 and the playmaker could complete the move to the Spanish side next week. In other words, Milan are set to miss out on this one, perhaps due to the high price tag.

  1. Honestly, i like that he has played in the italian league.. But i feel we can get better value for money, i wanted him, but if he is gone. Try another elite player.. 40m is a good pay in covid time for any attacking midfielder

  2. I agree. I like him but for 40m I think we can get a similar if not better player. The issue is will we spend 40M? What was our offer (if we even made one?). Doesn’t look like we are spending 40M on any one this summer. Looks like we are content with Hakan/Diaz again. A bit disappointing considering Hakan is wildly inconsistent. Hope Diaz can take the next step and and we can buy a young player like Adil that can play that position and RW. Hope I’m wrong and we start spending but doesn’t look good.

  3. elliot is sucks… dont have money… just go to asian market to buy some player from thailand or malaysia… god damn it
