Romagnoli’s injury could be a sliding doors moment for Milan as Kalulu shines

In the last three games, Pierre Kalulu has been a very important player for AC Milan, showing that he deserves a spot in the starting XI for the remainder of the season. Something, however, which wasn’t according to plan.

The defender helped keep Victor Osimhem quiet in the game against Napoli and he also scored the winner for the Rossoneri last night against Empoli. In addition, he helped Milan keep a clean sheet in the derby against Inter, which was when it all changed for him.

Alessio Romagnoli was forced to leave the derby early with an injury and that’s why Kalulu came on in the first place. Milan’s captain was back in the squad for yesterday’s clash but the Frenchman got the nod again, thanks to his recent performances.

For the Rossoneri, Romagnoli’s injury could turn out to be a sliding doors moment for the Scudetto. Had it not been for the injury, then perhaps Kalulu wouldn’t have played as much and that perhaps would have had negative consequences.
