Romano: Pavlovic agreement ‘imminent’ while Fofana holds out for Milan move

An agreement is imminent between AC Milan and Red Bull Salzburg over Strahinja Pavlovic, Fabrizio Romano has claimed, while Youssouf Fofana very much remains a target.

Milan’s summer mercato has been a slow one so far with Alvaro Morata the only new signing to arrive. This has led to some impatience among the fanbase, especially because there are various ongoing negotiations that the management seemingly cannot close.

According to Romano on X, an ‘agreement is imminent’ between Milan and Salzburg over Pavlovic. The centre-back has been clear with the Austrian club: he wants to join the Rossoneri after personal terms were agreed earlier in the month, and he is ready for a new chapter in Italy.

Meanwhile, Youssouf Fofana agreed personal terms with Milan weeks ago and he still wants the move. The Frenchman wants to play Champions League football but there is no agreement yet between Milan and Monaco.

Reports from France earlier today spoke of a €35m bid from West Ham but the player already rejected them a few days ago, with the London club now looking into other midfield targets. Now, the Milan management will look to reduce the gap between offer and asking price in the coming days.
