AC Milan will meet Oliver Glasner tomorrow to make steps towards deciding if he will be the new head coach for a new era.
The talks of a new head coach have been ongoing for a while now. However, it seems unlikely that they will be ending this week, barring any major changes. Indeed, whilst Massimiliano Allegri was still in his job, there were questions about this summer.

So, with his sacking, the discussions have multiplied in numbers and increased in volume. However, it appears that Milan are operating in serenity with a meeting planned with their number one candidate tomorrow, even if no technical director is in place.
Meeting tomorrow
Glasner, as reports suggest, is a leading candidate for the club and Ralf Rangnick, so getting his green light may be a further incentive for the Austrian national team coach. However, it would also add some structure, which is needed.
Speaking today, via MilanEye on X, Fabrizio Romano stated that a meeting is planned with the Austrian coach, ahead of further meetings with Rangnick this week.
“The meeting between Oliver Glasner and Milan will take place tomorrow, not in Milano nor in Austria, but in another country. It will be the first face-to-face meeting to understand if he can be the man to become the new Milan coach.”
He is doing it purely out of courtesy. He literally just left a selling club in order to make a step forward in his career, not replace it with another.
You do realise Glasner has won the Europa League with Frankfurt and the Conference League with Palace, that’s more than what we’ve done in over a decade, not to mention the FA Cup success. He has built 2 solid squads playing his brand of football very well.
Milan won the Scudetto, that is more than winning those Europa League and/or Conference League. Conference League is like winning the Italian cup. Actually weaker teams play in Conference League.
There are about 10 clubs in European football that aren’t ‘selling clubs’ at this point, he may not have much choice. That said, he might hold out for a high profile English club or someone in the UCL, but there aren’t many of those hiring now that Liverpool took Iraola. Probably Leverkusen would be favourites for him though.
Leverkusen is a selling club as well. Unless it’s a top English 6 or one the wealthy club. Everyone is a selling club.
There are probably less than 10 – Real Madrid, Man City and Chelsea have raked in huge sums from sales. PSG and Bayern appear to be two of the clubs that don’t regularly sell players for large sums.
You mean like Maldini and Massara sold players? 3 seasons out of 5 that were on pair to the 2 seasons after they left?
Glasner > Allegri + conte
I wouldn’t say that, Allegri could very well outperform us next season with Napoli and it won’t be a surprise. Conte is well above Oliver at this moment, his trophy cabinet speaks for itself, Oliver, despite the way he looks is actually quite young for a coach. He’s younger than Pep Guardiola and the same age as Ronaldo, 2 years older than Gattuso.

Guardiola is a beast because he kept adapting Conte and Allegri became dinosaurs. Allegri takes at least half of the blame for us not reaching top 4.
We had to win at San Siro vs Cagliari. Like this is one of the smallest hurdles anyone can present to a coach, Allegri failed.
What trophies? Conte dominated in Serie A when everyone had financial issues. He made 1 European final with Inter lost against Sevilla. Glasner so far punch above his weight with club with limited budget while Conte is used with large budget of course it make sense. Conte at the moment his stock has reached it’s peak. You’ll never see Conte at Madrid, Man city, PSG. Maybe a Spurs. He’s not going to attract top club unless he evolve his philosophy. While Glasner stock is only going up. I wouldn’t be surprised if he found a bit of success a club like Man United would try to sign him in a year or 2.
You’re being too harsh on Conte, it’s still amazing he could dominate serie a and he also won scudetto with inter and napoli. PL with Chelsea, not many coaches able to do what he does
Don’t forget, Chelsea and Man United were looking at his profile before making their final decision. If he comes at Milan and win again. Any giants will knock for him in the future
I’d prefer Glasner over the other mentioned candidates like Slot and Poch.
he is very professional. the same like a few other candidates. but I think that the best option is Conte. I think that currently Milan is in so big chaos that only south Italian could find some order in this case.

the problem are transfers. we have got shi… players. and don Conte always expect sth more. at least to sell guys like Leao, Gimenez, Jashari, Tomori and Nkunku. so let’s see what will happen.
