RR: Months of silence, false €8m rumours – where Theo’s renewal actually stands

AC Milan and Theo Hernandez’s entourage are currently in a state of stalemate over the renewal of his contract, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of ‘the great frost’ involving Theo, who is wanting €8m net per season plus bonuses to renew with Milan but is not convincing the management with his performances and his behaviour more recently.

According to what Radio Rossonera are reporting, contacts between the French full-back’s representatives and the Milan management have been at a standstill for months, and that means that the mention of an €8m request is also false.

There are and have been no open discussions for months between Milan and Manuel Garcia Quilon – Theo’s agent – regarding the possible extension of his current deal which expires in June 2026. There is a ‘lack of a relationship’ between the parties that has lasted since the spring.

Is it a mere economic question? No, because Theo has shown that he does not put only and exclusively his own salary at the top of the list of priorities. Rather, the former Real Madrid man is happy at Milan, where he has his family and where he would like to continue to live and play .

The player’s will is therefore clear: he is open to the renewal of his contract, with ample willingness to sit around a table to reach an agreement that would put him at the centre of the project for the next few years and perhaps would contribute to strengthening his bond with the fans. The ball is now in Milan’s court.
