Saelemaekers hasn’t scored in 33 games but his last goal came against Sassuolo

Alexis Saelemaekers has received some criticism from the AC Milan fans since he signed his contract renewal earlier in the season. Although the performances have picked up recently, he’s yet to score a goal.

The Belgian is a very important player for the Rossoneri in terms of his movement and constant tracking back, offering a lot of support to the defence. However, concerns have been raised with regards to the lack of goalscoring

In 73 appearances for the club, Saelemaekers has only found the back of the net four times. He has ten assists but it’s safe to say that Milan want more goals from their right-winger. This was highlighted even more after Junior Messias’ goal mid-week.

As pointed out by MilanNews, the No.56’s last goal for Milan came 33 league games ago, when the Rossoneri managed to beat Sassuolo away from home in December 2020. Tomorrow’s clash against the Neroverdi, therefore, is perfect for him to get back on the scoresheet.
