Alexis Saelemaekers gave AC Milan the perfect start to their must-win game against Cagliari, scoring with pretty much the first attack.

The game may have started late, but Milan did not and they took the lead inside two minutes. A ball clipped in towards the right side of the box was flicked inside beautifully by Santiago Gimenez, with Alexis Saelemaekers waiting to bring it under control and fire inside the far corner.

Given the doubts in the build-up regarding whether Saelemaekers or Zachary Athekame would start on the right, it was a huge goal from the Belgian to repay the faith of Massimiliano Allegri.
