Salzburg midfielder says Austrian side ‘will do everything’ to beat Milan

RB Salzburg midfielder Maurits Kjaergaard has said that his side will do all that they can to beat AC Milan and get into the next round of the Champions League.

Speaking during an interview with the club’s official website (via Milan News), the Danish midfielder came out swinging when talking about Wednesday night’s clash at San Siro which will be decisive for both teams’ European campaigns.

The Rossoneri just need to assure they either beat or draw with their Austrian opposition, whilst Salzburg need to beat Milan. They are one point behind the Serie A champions.

As is rightly the case, Kjaergaard is hell-bent on helping his team do what is necessary to book a place in the Round of 16 and his teammates feel the same.

“Our goal was to stay in Europe in the spring. We still have a chance to do so and, if we manage to win away, we would even be in the Champions League,” Kjaergaard said.

“We want to reach this goal and we will do everything to achieve it. We also know that it will be extremely difficult to beat the Italian champions on their home ground.”

The first game between the two sides ended in a draw in Austria but Stefano Pioli will want his team to get the job done convincingly.
