Salzburger Nachrichten: Pavlovic skips RB Salzburg training and is already in Milan

Strahinja Pavlovic is all set to complete his move to AC Milan from Red Bull Salzburg and he is already in Italy, according to a report.

With Simon Kjaer having departed on a free transfer and with all the defensive struggles last season, the Milan management decided to go out and sign a player to try and bolster the rearguard. Pavlovic’s name has been linked for weeks, and Fabrizio Romano gave the operation ‘here we go’ status last night.

According to the local news outlet Salzburger Nachrichten who cover the Austrian side, the closing of the deal between Milan and Salzburg for Pavlovic is imminent, so much so that the Serbian central defender did not train today.

Instead, he is already in Milan where he will undergo his medical once he gets approval to do so, and then presumably he will fly out to the United States to join the rest of the squad on their preseason tour.

The deal should close at €18m plus €2m in bonuses as per the source, which certainly feels like a good price for a 23-year-old who ticks virtually every box in terms of what Milan were looking for in a centre-back signing.
