Mexico drew 0-0 with Costa Rica on Sunday night to win Group A of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and that means they will face Saudi Arabia in the quarter-finals of the competition. It was a frustrating game against a low block, but Giménez thought he had the winner.
The striker scored with an outrageous bicycle kick in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time, but the goal was disallowed by the referee following a video review. In the end it didn’t stand, but Mexico finished on seven points to win their group on goal difference.
This was too pretty of a goal from Santi Giménez to be called offside. 🥲 Unlucky. It was an insane piece of skill. 🇲🇽

It will certainly be encouraging viewing for Massimiliano Allegri, who has apparently made it one of his missions to get the €35m man firing after a mixed first few months in Italy.
