GdS: €40m striker rejects Dortmund for Italy stay – Milan and Inter the interested sides

AC Milan are hanging on in the race to sign Gianluca Scamacca as they look for the centre-forward of the future to take the baton from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

With Juventus effectively excluding themselves from the race by sealing the signing of Dusan Vlahovic, Scamacca’s possible destinations in the summer appear to now be narrowed down quite a bit, especially given that Sassuolo are expected to demand a big sum for their latest jewel.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.it), the striker has rejected the offer of Borussia Dortmund to stay in Italy. Inter are the team most serious about landing the 23-year-old and they are ready to offer him a salary of €2.5m net per season to convince him.

However, Milan – although potentially discouraged by the €40m asking price that the Neroverdi have set – should not yet be excluded from the race and could accelerate at any moment.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara know that a young striker will be needed in the summer, so they are evaluating all the different options and Scamacca – who has 9 league goals this season – could very well be the one they go for.
