Scaroni admits Berlusconi’s love for Milan ‘never faded’ and reveals what he thought of Pioli

Paolo Scaroni has rather unsurprisingly revealed that Silvio Berlusconi never stopped sharing his input regarding his former club AC Milan.

The former media tycoon and prime minister passed away in hospital aged 86 yesterday, and we tried to relay what he meant to Milan in a feature earlier today, while we also picked out 10 of his best quotes as well as the best 11 players of his tenure.

Berlusconi sold Milan to Yonghong Li in 2017 and he officially became the new club president, though he would last just one year before Elliott Management seized control and Scaroni has held the position ever sence.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the current Milan president Scaroni shared a few words to remember his legendary predecessor Berlusconi, which were relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“His love for the Rossoneri colours never faded. I remember it at San Siro, we watched the games together, side by side in the stands,” he said.

“When he bought Monza, then, he dedicated himself with great passion to his new creation, without however ever leaving Milan. He never missed a game on TV.

“He appreciated Pioli’s qualities as a coach, but also the seriousness, professionalism and style, perfect for Milan.”
