CM: Several presented, one preferred – Abraham opens himself to Milan move

In the hunt for a new striker, AC Milan are exhausting several avenues, and with Joshua Zirkzee heading to Manchester United, they must now re-open old tracks.

Recruitment must be a balance. There is no point in buying a striker who works in a system that would not be compatible with the current squad, and this also extends to future players as well, in the sense that there is no point recruiting a striker who only works in one system.

Perhaps, we have seen Milan already do this in the mercato, and according to Calciomercato.com, when Zirkzee was the preferred candidate, the Rossoneri closed some avenues for whatever reason, but now, they are reopening some of these.

In this case, we look to Tammy Abraham, and the management have received ‘precise instructions’ from Paulo Fonseca to resume contact with AS Roma and his entourage about the possibility of a move.

The report suggests that he is open to a move for several reasons, most notably due to his relationships with several current players, such as Fikayo Tomori and Christian Pulisic, whilst also being attracted by the size of the Diavolo.

Furthermore, the report states Abraham has had options presented to him, but he has only asked to go ahead with the one from Casa Milan, making the move his priority.
