A new name has emerged as a potential last ditch target for AC Milan in their pursuit of a centre-forward, according to a report.
Around 24 hours ago it appeared as though Mehdi Taremi was going to complete his move to Milan after a few days of negotiations. However, various obstacles arose that mean there is now a race against time to get things done.

According to what Luca Marchetti told Sky (via MilanNews), in the event that Milan do not get a deal over the line for Taremi, the name of Mason Burstow is being considered as a loan option.
The Chelsea centre-forward would arrive to replace Colombo, now close to moving on loan to Monza, and he is highly rated within the Blues’ ranks.
He amassed 11 goals and 4 assists in 30 appearances for Chelsea’s U21 side, and he also scored 6 goals for Charlton in 23 games. He has played three times for Chelsea’s senior side this season so far but only for a combined 72 minutes.

why not CUTRONE? or rely on okafor since he can also fill the ST position
I only like the idea of Cutrone because he is a Milan youth product and it breaks my heart that he has landed in Serie B. But does he have the qualities to back-up Giroud? Probably not..
He wasn’t Milan quality.
He has Milan heart and bleed Milan, but it was obvious, even when he was here, that he is not good enough.
Okafor ofc, but we need 3 players in position 9. So if Colombo go to Monza we indeed need 1 backup. Except if Origi will be that player…
What’s the point of having him and not Columbo??
Colombo is Italian and AC Woke dosen’t want Italians. Srsly if you want young striker for a back up just keep Colombo and give him a chance.
Colombo wants to go and play regular minutes somewhere. That’s his own desire.
I’m sure he’s a decent prospect, but he’s someone who should be loaned out to an English Championship side to get playing time. He doesn’t have anywhere near enough experience to be Giroud’s main backup.
All that noise is just to put pressure on Taremi agents. Calm down.
Keep Colombo then. Why go after someone who won’t improve the team and take Colombo away.
Not impressed
This makes ZERO sense. We already have Colombo for that…
Looks like Origi is playing this season afteral, boys.
Yup and adding this kid makes no sense at all. He’s just a body at this point.
I also said we should not have frozen out Origi – and now we will need him – perhaps desperately
What a mess this was. Despite all the good management has done this summer in adding players (not selling) this one wasn’t handled well at all. Should NOT have waited until the last moment of the window to try and secure a player in such an important position. Bad mistake and hopefully we learn from it and it doesn’t cost us UCL knockout stage qualification (and the 50 plus million that comes with it) because of it……
This guy, and Taremi, seems like completely different players. Does not make sense at all.
It is a report by Sky ffs. Why do you all believe the report.
Why not Colombo? It’s not because we don’t trust him but he wants to play regularly. Better let him leave on loan than let him rot in our bench – young players need to play regularly. Not just as back up to 37y.o – so hopefully when he come back he will be better player with more experience playing in Serie A.
“Now it’s clear that the people running the team don’t want Italian in team” lol. Shame on you, always try to blame the management for everything not going your way.
And Cutrone was never good enough anyway. Bleed Milan and have Milan heart but not the quality.
Colombo wants to go somewhere where he can play regularly. It’s not Milan that wants him to leave. If they didn’t trust him or value him they’d sell him instead of extending his deal before loaning him out.
If Colombo is the second striker he will stay. But if he is the 3rd or 4th striker its smart of him to want to leave. Origi and Okafor didnt show anything more than Colombo so far but still they are in front of him in the picking order so why would he sacriface him self stagnating his career sitting on the bench as 4th choice for a club that has showed zero respect towards milanistas. He knows they preffer foreign players and he will never be given the chance to develop. So you can’t blame the guy for putting his career first.
You’re misunderstanding, I’m not criticizing Colombo. I think it’s the right move for him and his career and I support him. I think it’s the right move for the team to loan him out as well, so their asset can continue to develop.
I think it would be a mistake for a club with scudetto and UCL aspirations to rely on Colombo as their second choice at striker. Just as it would be a mistake to rely on Origi. And for these reasons, the team was looking to sign a much better option.
That the better options have fallen through, does not make Colombo the next best option by default.
This guy in the article is no better than Colombo, he is a youngster as well. For me Scamacca was the perfect choise who fits in Pioli system perfectly.
Chelsea are looking to offload Mudryk according to one report – season long loan with option might be a good shout
That would actually be a good signing. But we have Leao at the moment.
Mudryk is TERRIBLE! His pace is amazing, but his dribbling is hit and miss (awesome, sometimes, terrible, the rest), and his shooting is atrocious. Unbelievably bad, really.
I don’t know if it’s nerves or a lack of quality. I’m guessing that even Chelsea wouldn’t have spent more than £88.5M if they didn’t watch video of him actually providing the end product, but I watched every Chelsea match, following CP11, and when Mudryk played, he was exciting attacking the wing, until his cross went out for a throw-in on the opposite wing, or he fired a shot into Row Z.
Bring Taremi or bring no one.
Amateurs. After signing 3 midfielders, a CF should have been the priority, then they could have thought about Musah. Pioli remains a moron.
After signing 3 midfielders, a CF should have been the priority, not Musah. Pioli remains an absolute plank.
Comparing the quality, the right alternative is to bring YOUSSEF En-NESYRI to San Siro, or also Benjamin Sesko as Giroud’s rival.
Youssef is only good with his head not a good scorer with his foot, Benjamin sesko is better off.
