Rafael Leao’s contract will expire in 2024 and AC Milan are currently working on a contract renewal for the winger. However, given his success lately, it is proving to be rather difficult for the Rossoneri.
Leao is one of the best players in Serie A and has become an almost irreplaceable player for Milan on the left wing. Therefore, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are keen on reaching an agreement on a contract renewal but the situation is complicated.
As per Sky Italia (via SempreMilan.it), the fine that needs to be paid to Sporting continues to make the negotiations difficult. Leao, understandably so, doesn’t want to pay it himself and wants significant help from the club.
In addition to this, his salary demands aren’t exactly low and other suitors aren’t exactly lacking. Milan know what Leao’s needs are and will work hard to reach an agreement within the right parameters, but only time can tell what the outcome will be.
