Sky: Theo Hernandez in doubt for Lazio clash due to training injury

AC Milan had seemingly escaped the curse which haunted their defenders this season in recent weeks. However, the curse has reappeared and taken a new victim in training.

Regardless of the end of the season, the expectations laid out at the season’s beginning will not be met, with the side falling into the Europa League and a late entry for the Scudetto race all but a dream away.

Fingers have been pointed everywhere, and the injuries, specifically in defence, that the Rossoneri have sustained this season are a common area of concern. This season, Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu have all suffered long-term injuries, which has hurt the squad’s performance due to the limited options for rotation after their injuries.

Sky (via Goal) have reported another injury in defence, this time to Theo Hernandez. The Frenchman has enjoyed a rich vein of form recently but has reportedly picked up a knock to his foot in training today, and he will be assessed tomorrow morning.

As a result, it may mean he does not start the game against Lazio, which could see Alessandro Florenzi come into the side at left-back if the knock is deemed serious enough to avoid risking Hernandez from the start, if at all.
